Chapter Eleven

Micah drove to his house with Zoey in the passenger seat. They didn’t talk, but the air was charged with electricity despite the silence. Her head was on his shoulder and their hands were joined, resting on her thigh.

He wanted to say something romantic, but all his brain could muster were happy growls from his wolf and mildly inappropriate comments like, “I’d like to bury my face between your thighs for the next few days.”

She let out a soft sound, a moan, and a sigh, and reached her free hand over to grip his upper thigh. “You smell so good. It’s like cologne, but I don’t think it’s that.”

He hummed, his wolf spinning in happy circles.

He wondered if she was picking up on his arousal. “Your senses might be hyper aware of me and my wolf right now,” he said. “I’m not wearing cologne, so you’re smelling my wolf.”

“I’d say bottle it, but I don’t want anyone else knowing how sexy and amazing you smell.”

He chuckled. “I’m pretty sure it’s a scent that’s just for you.”

“How do you mean?”

“Because I’m turned on, and you’re the reason. I think we’re both turning each other on extra hard, since you smell amazing to me too. I honestly can’t wait to get you home.”

“Me too.”

He put his foot down a little more on the gas, wanting to get there quicker but also wanting to make it there in one piece.

“I wish I didn’t have to work tomorrow,” she said wistfully.

“Me too, but I’ll be there with you.”

“What?” She lifted from his shoulder, and he gave her a quick glance.

“I want to help you again.”

“You don’t have to.”

“I know, but I want to. I had a blast today. You make me rethink being the grill master. I might be able to swing it as a baker.”

“I liked your ribs, though. You’re really talented.”

“Thanks. I know I’m not as good a baker as you, but I fucking loved every second of today, even when I burned the apples.”

“Twice.”

“Right.” He laughed. “Karly would hate me if I stopped running the grill at the restaurant, but I’d really love to work with you too.”

“Are you sure you won’t get tired of it? Of me?”

He almost hit the brakes at her words. His wolf snarled at the thought. “Are you kidding me? I’m not going to get tired of you, baby. You’re my whole world and that’s not going to change. I’m with you because I’m crazy about you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Spending the day with you helping out in the kitchen is just icing on the cake for me. It means I get to look at you all I want and fantasize about getting you naked.”

She giggled and he loved the sound. Hell, after spending the week with her, he was in love with her. Head over tail, batshit crazy about his beautiful female.

“I thought about that too sometimes,” she said.

“Oh I know. I can tell when you’re turned on, remember?”

“Right, I keep forgetting you have great senses.
